Celebrate Spay Day, and win prizes

spay-day-2009Tuesday, February 24, 2009 is the 15th annual Spay Day USA.  The Humane Society of the United States sponsors this event, which is typically the last Tuesday of February, “to inspire people to save animal lives by spaying or neutering pets and feral cats.”    

There are several ways to contribute to Spay Day USA, whether it’s by hosting an event, contributing to an existing event, or just trying to raise public awareness.  You can even help out & possibly win prizes by entering a pet photo contest through the HSUS.

Event Description:

Throughout the month of February Concerned Citizens for Animals will conduct another SPOT (Stop Pet Overpopulation Today) Event for Spay Day USA. CCA will provide 75 spay/neuter certificates at no cost to individuals with low income or seniors on a fixed income. The certificates are available on a first come/first served basis. If you know of anyone in need of this service or you would like to sponsor a spay/neuter surgery, please contact CCA at(864)243-4222 or www.ccaweb.org to help “Stop Pet Overpopulation Today”!
 
Monetary donations are needed to help cover the cost for 75 spay/neuter surgeries. Surgeries are typically $40 for cats and $50 for dogs, but any amount would be greatly appreciated.
